ABOUT: PFLAG Charlotte was founded in 1987 and is a chapter of PFLAG national. PFLAG Charlotte envisions a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued and affirmed inclusive of their sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression. PFLAG Charlotte offers peer support for families, allies, and people who are LGBTQ+, providing educational workshops for the workplace, schools, healthcare professionals, human service organizations, and faith communities and advocating in our community to build a more equitable future for all. PFLAG Charlotte aspires to integrate art into our programming when possible. For example, last fall PFLAG Charlotte hosted an event entitled “At the Intersection of Faith and LGBTQ Identities - Beyond the Welcome Table” with keynote speaker John Pavlovitz. Through interactive experiences, participants worked with documentary artist Tracy Watts to share something of their own story at the intersection of their faith and LGBTQ identities through art, audio and video.
