ABOUT:
The Lotus Project is an arts education/production company whose mission is to use the visual and performing arts as a vehicle for change in the areas of self empowerment, conflict resolution, and community advocacy. Through creative expression, within an inclusive and nurturing environment, we look inward to discover ourselves, outward to learn about others, and forward to changing our communities. Through our policy of making no cuts in the audition process, our selection of material, and our gender free casting, we make the arts accessible to ALL, and challenge societal norms in the areas of disability, gender and sexuality. Through our Community Partner program, we pair with other non profits with similar missions for post show talk backs to dive deeper into these themes.
With The Lotus Project, we strive to create a community where everyone is not only accepted, but celebrated. We welcome especially the most vulnerable humans who are so often "othered" in many spaces, due to their gender expression, sexuality, disability, race, religion, culture, family structure, and/or socio-economic status.
