ABOUT: Founded in 2018, SouthEnd ARTS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and art education organization focused on creating juried equity art exhibitions to showcase underinvested artists and build a community committed to social justice through the arts. SouthEnd ARTS “curates meaningful and thought-provoking exhibitions, events, and speaker series to support talented local artists.” Their mission is “to provide a platform for local artists by creating equity art exhibition space, building cultural bridges, empowering artists and their communities in South End.” Among SouthEnd ARTS initiatives: 1) Raising community consciousness about local history, culture, opportunity and heritage with a monthly Social Justice Speaker/Performance Series, 2) Helping artists professionalize their portfolios to prepare for a world that expects corporate-style presentations for funding consideration, and 3) Highlighting local artists through our digital platforming with gallery shows and curated resources in order to continue to adapt to the changing South End art scene.
