ABOUT:

Mission Statement: “We are a Climate Justice, solutions-based organization led by Black thought leaders who are closing the Green Gap and placing PEOPLE at the core of Sol Nation’s environmental justice work.”

Sol Nation is working to be a nationally and globally recognized organization that provides direct pathways for BIPOC communities to enter into the Sol Era. They are linking environmental justice and social justice issues to illustrate that for every social justice issue there is an environmental justice component to it. The campaign gives a rallying point to provide greater access to education, resources, infrastructure, power, and liberation with the communities.Their guiding principles to achieve this are:

  1. Believe communities should own their climate justice solutions.

  2. Create opportunities to establish intergenerational strategies to impact local social and environmental issues.

  3. Prioritize Black folks issues, identities, and cultural values.

  4. Provide BIPOC communities pathways to entry into the environmental justice movement.

  5. Identify & cultivate individual strength/skills to translate EJ threats into innovative solutions.

  6. Lead socio-economic impact to create sustainable & sovereign communities.

UNEARTHED Teen Art Exhibition

UNEARTHED Teen Exhibition offers a valuable platform for black expression that often goes unnoticed. This exhibition serves as a gateway for young black creatives to enter the art world at a young age and gain exposure to the art business. Created by Sol Nation’s “Environmental Justice is Creative Culture” campaign, the Unearthed Art exhibition is not only an opportunity for the artist but a catalyst for environmental and climate injustice conversations.
