ABOUT: Guerilla Poets is a collective of activist artists and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides art, music, and poetry/writing programs in shelters, centers, schools and more - from elementary kids to elderly adults. Among the workshop partners are Mecklenburg County Juvenile Detention Program, Time Out Youth, Transforming Youth Movement, Inc., and Crisis Assistance Ministries.
The mission of the Guerilla Poets is to “provide access to high quality art programs, tailored to specific needs for personal growth.” Their vision is “for every person to have access to the healing power of the arts.” In addition to the workshops, Guerilla Poets also hosts fundraisers for organizations and flash mob poetry events.
