ABOUT: “Our mission is to build an enduring legacy of beautiful art and music in the greater Charlotte area through community involvement and by encouraging young and emerging artists and musicians with grants, scholarships, and performance and teaching opportunities.” The Charlotte Area Foundation for Music and Handcrafted Art, Inc. 501(c)(3) was founded in 2008. It offers grants and scholarships to art and music students. These grants provide funds for private lessons, summer programs, instruments, and art supplies. Assistance is based on merit as well as financial need. The applicant may request a grant up to $500. The Foundation is supported by private and corporate donations, through grants, and from annual fundraising events. In addition to grants and funding, the Foundation also offers a number of programs for the community, such as the Brush Strokes and Music Notes Summer Camp.
